artst.org is an uncomplicated mash-up of two sites, artcyclopedia.com which as a database of artist's paintings and illustrations and art.com which provides prints and framing. Hope you find your favorite artist Robert Patterson, a mathematics professor at the University of Pennsylvania, sent a cipher (coded message) to his friend Thomas Jefferson in 1801, recently it was solved by a math professor in Princeton, NJ containing a message referencing the Fourth of July. Happy & Safe Fourth! Read more about the message. Perhaps the wisdom of the crowd can help me identify this commemorative event and what these people are known for. I can't find anything on the web to help me identify the event or what these gentleman are famous (or infamous) for...I think they may be composers, but collectively there must have been some 30 year anniversary that escapes any reference that I can find. Please let me know if any of you can help me. Some hints include: 1) the years 1929 -1959; 2) the names: Emeric, Albert, Armand, & Zoltan. Also the the cities: New York, Paris, and Grenoble (France) repeat around the outside perimeter, the back has a logo of a deer with the logotype of "Dofan". This 3/4 lb Bronze medallion measures 3 1/2" in diameter was purchased for $3.00 at an auction in NJ...which makes a great paperweight until I find out more information. Well, I know I am. This dangerous walk is located in El Caminito del Rey, Malaga, Spain. Built in 1901, construction of the walkway lasted four years. In 1921, King Alfonso XIII had to cross the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce, and it became known by its present name. Unfortunately, as you'll see, it hasn't been maintained for many years. This Historic Tale Construction Kit has been around for a couple of years. I often use it to support one of my school projects for Page & Cover Design. Click Start and you can drag & drop images and use the text tool to create words (only one font available), unfortunately to save the images you need to use the print screen function with Photoshop for editing. I don't think this site supports multiple frames, email to a friend, or the gallery function any longer, still it is a clever way to create tapestry-like images if you have the patience to use print screen & Photoshop. Archived photos available from the Library of Congress on Flickr. This is a pilot progrman that has started with 1615 color photos from the 30's & 40" and 1500 photos from "News in 1910. This is a great resource for digital designers, have fun. |
