Ever notice the cool type treatments in current book cover designs and advertising... might be Jessica Hische's work...definitely worth a look. You may recognize Bob Staake's illustrations from various children's books and other publications. He creates most of his elements from primitive shapes. I thought this was a very interesting albeit old school digital method of illustrating with Photoshop 3; Enjoy.
artst.org is an uncomplicated mash-up of two sites, artcyclopedia.com which as a database of artist's paintings and illustrations and art.com which provides prints and framing. Hope you find your favorite artist Paul Kiesche is a talented friend and colleague of mine and has seven paintings entered in this contest, the winners work will be incorporated on billboards to be displayed along the Palisade. There are lots of great paintings and photos...I encourage you to vote (go to view & vote) for your favorite, but give Paul's work a close look, his landscape series is impressive, more of his work can be viewed here. Enjoy the art. Eric Grohe creates large-scale faux landscapes using exterior walls for his canvas, beautiful work. His corporate work with Miller Brewing is a great example of creating illusions in unexpected places. Happy Holidays! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Thanks to Arielle for her illustration, to print a copy of Arielle's Illustration for personal use, click on the image. To view the Holiday card click here. |
